Password-protect a PDF
Encrypt a PDF using AES-256 with an opening password and an owner password. This can help control access to a copy of your document, but does not replace careful sharing. A configured native processing service is required; check the availability notice above before proceeding.
This tool needs a processing service that is not connected yet. Your files have not been uploaded.

When this tool helps
- Prepare a password-protected copy before sharing an internal document.
- Add an opening password to a PDF stored outside its original workspace.
Questions and practical limits
Can I separately disable printing, copying and editing?
Fine-grained permission switches are not implemented in this interface. Do not assume a particular reader restriction beyond the adapter's supported password-encryption behavior.
Does encryption make any sharing method safe?
No. Use a strong password and an appropriate sharing channel, and give the password only to intended recipients. Once opened, document content can still be redistributed.
